Monday Match - 16/01/2011

To start off with I’m going to apologise for the lateness of this review and also inform all of you that watch people football that there is going to be no mention of bad refereeing. This is because there isn’t one so it’s just going to be about football.

Mush scoring his first goal

First half
The first half was a pretty one sided affair with many of the chances of the chances that had been created were converted into goals for both teams. The surprising aspect of this half was the superiority of the statistically worse car on the track; the A-class Lotus Esprit driven by Mush who scored three of the 5 goals scored by the Blue team. This Scoring drive was nearly matched by the red teams TwopennyPenguin who scored 2.

Second half
Even though the score reflects the dominance of the blue team, the Second half provided a more equal match. There were plenty of chances for both teams however the defending was top class and so the total amount of goals was less than the first half. The blue team managed to score 3 goals compared to the red teams 1. The blue team’s scorers were Mush, who scored 2, and CaptSlow2 with TwopennyPenguin scoring the red team's sole goal in this half despite spending the majority of the match acting as the red team's goalkeeper in his Ford F-150 Raptor.

Extra time
How you view the result of extra time depends on how you look at the previous results. One way of looking at it is that it’s a complete contrast to the rest of the match as the result was 3-0 to the red team which implies that the red side was the dominant team however as, I have already mentioned, the blue team was predominantly dominant. On the other hand, it continued the trend of a red team that improved and developed as a team as the match progressed. The goal scorers were Shaunnnnnnnnn, bHayami and TwopennyPenguin.

Conclusion
Car football conjures up images of crashing and shunting- this match contained both in equal and large measure however there were also some moments of flare and finesse but no Elan, you are too small to play with the big boys. Final score 8-6 to the blues with the golden boot award being awarded to Mush.
